RAIDILLON USA LAUNCHES RAIDILLON WATCHES IN THE USA
Wilmington, DE, (February 14, 2011) - Raidillon USA, launches the Raidillon watch brand in the United States. Created only ten years ago in 2001 by watch designer Bernard Julémont who is the artisan behind the Raidillon brand, Raidillon marks its 10th anniversary. Born out of a passion for the beautiful timepieces, cars and racing, Raidillon watches and chronographs are powered by a Swiss engineered clock movement, which are either manual or self-winding.
Raidilon USA was recently selected by Raidillon as the sole distributor of Raidillon watches in the USA. Raidillon USA is currently setting up dealers in major American markets. The first official retailer is Schubot Jewellers in Detroit. Raidillon USA plans to announce a selection of new retailers before that will soon carry an exciting line of Raidillon chronographs ranging from 42 to 48 mm. Just like the dials on a dashboard, Raidillon watches are large and equipped with an easily readable dial that provides clear information.
Every Raidillon chronograph is specially crafted with a limited number of 55 pieces per model. Its limited availability establishes a unique provenance, creating a mutual legacy among auto enthusiasts and car collectors alike. “We are very happy to introduce our Raidillon watches in the United States of America with our exclusive distributor Raidillon USA,” announced Bernard Julémont, Director of Raidillon SA. “The U.S. market counts hundreds of thousands of auto racing enthusiasts and watch aficionados and I think the combination of the two represents a niche market for our brand in America. American race car drivers have a long tradition with the Spa Francorchamps circuit and the Raidillon.
Over the last 60 years, the Raidillon curve was negotiated with success by legendary U.S. drivers which have consistently rated the Raidillon as a spectacularly fast, extremely challenging curve. With a top speed approaching 200 mph in a F1, the name Raidillon guarantees adrenaline. In 1961 during the Belgium Formula One Grand Prix, American racing icon, Phil Hill, won his first ever F1 race that led him to his F1 World Championship title two weeks later at Monza, the first ever for an American driver. Another legendary driver, Dan Gurney, won at Spa Francorchamps driving through the Raidillon in 1967 when he crossed the finish line first driving an all American made Eagle chassis in the F1 Grand Prix, which is to date, the only win of an American built F1 racecar.
